Housing

  • Convene a Forum on Housing, one which will involve all stakeholders who will sit down with our planners so all sides can overcome the impediments which prohibit building of houses.
  • Ensure delivery of private, social and affordable housing. Work with the HFA (Housing Finance Agency) and housing bodies to ensure finance is secured for Limerick.
  • Work with communities to upgrade and repurpose derelict and service sites in towns and villages.

Transport

  • Improve local link rural transport between villages, towns and Limerick city.
  • Campaign to have the bus service between Shannon and Limerick improved.
  • Limerick city: devise a futureproof traffic plan that is easy to navigate and welcoming to residents and visitors.
  • A full transport policy paper will be released in the near future.

Environment

  • More parks, play spaces and walking trails for an active, healthy community.
  • Harness energy from the River Shannon, the most under-utilised river in Europe.
  • Aim to make Limerick the first non-single use, plastic-free county in Ireland.
  • No cable ties on Helen’s campaign posters. Recycled and biodegradable paper used where possible.
